A Jumping Robot

Hop Bot is a lightweight, single-legged jumping robot. It was designed to weight under 200 grams, cost less than 100 pounds, have IP54 ingress protection and self-righting capabilities.

Features on Hop Bot include:

• Passive self-righting mechanism
• A custom bi-directional motor trigger mechanism
• Maximal conversion of spring energy

My Role:

As the sole design engineer on this project, I was responsible for the entire development which involved conceptual design, analytical analysis, FEA, and mechanical design.
