Pal-V
To fully utilizes FEA methods taught in my second-year computer-aided engineering course, We were assigned to design the chassis of a new flying helicopter car, Pal-V.
The loading conditions I considered were a static 7 Kn force applied on one side of the structure during landing. And a 2 Kn m moment applied to the inner surface of the hub by the rotor blades.
The analysis was done in Solidworks using static loading, fatigue, and vibration studies. Mesh convergence studies were performed for the static tests. Expected stress loads where also calculated analytically to serve as a sanity check.
